Escape Day is back at the Stade de France !

After a 2020 edition cancelled due to Covid-19, the Escape Day, organized by Premiers de Cordée, made a comeback on Wednesday, June 16, at the Stade de France! A highlight for the association which symbolizes the return of sporting activities for sick and / or disabled children.

It was obviously in a rather special atmosphere that this 7th edition was organised. For obvious safety reasons, the organization has adapted to the health recommendations. For example, the gauge of the number of participants has been deliberately reduced. In addition, we welcomed 1000 children in two sessions: 500 in the morning and 500 in the afternoon. Also, the sports village was enlarged to accommodate the 25 different disciplines and the equipment was carefully disinfected between each participant.

Despite these measures, Premiers de Cordée was determined to make it a big day out for all the children from medico-social structures. Indeed, since the start of the Covid-19 epidemic, they have had very little access to activities that allow them to let off steam, have fun and forget about everyday life.

This edition is obviously special! But it brings us back to basics: providing a moment to escape through sport for those who are unfortunately distanced from it.

Sébastien RUFFIN, Executive Officer

Association sponsor Arsène WENGER, Arsenal’s iconic coach and FIFA director of world football development, was on hand to share his love of sport with the children. Also present, our ambassadors Silvia NOTARGIACOMO and Gabin GIBAND, like every year, set the esplanade of the Stade de France on fire.

Finally, this Escape Day also marks a face to face reunion with our volunteers and all of our partners. A great moment in the life of our association!

For the this event to succeed, no less than 50 volunteers and 76 sports teachers were mobilized despite everyone’s crazy schedules! The entire Premiers de Cordée team wishes to thank them all for their availability and their involvement.
